Improvement Needed

It’s time for some good concerts! In London, I used to both work at concerts and attend concerts I really liked. In Barcelona, I’ve only been to two concerts, Nas and Subsonica, and neither was extremely exciting. The atmosphere at Subsonica’s concert was overwhelming though. Sala Apolo was packed with nostalgic Italian Erasmus students and expats. It makes me wish that Lars Winnerbäck and Lisa Ekdahl would give a concert here as well.

Subsonica - Tutti i miei sbagli

Nas - I Can

So what’s coming up? Ojos de Brujo, Beyonce, Ligabue, The Original Wailers, La Oreja de Van Gogh. Ok, it’s not the best range of concerts, but there might be a hidden treasure somewhere.

After Rain Comes Sunshine

One of the things I like best about Barcelona is, without any doubts, the wonderful and reliable weather. We’ve had four days of cloudy miserable sky and semi-heavy rain, and then after the rain sunshine really came. Today we’ve had 15 °C, clear blue sky and sunshine!

A Break from the City

Montserrat

While living in London, I very seldom took a break from the city stress, but here in Barcelona, I tend to take a break every weekend, even though Barcelona isn’t a very stressful city.

The last two weekends, we have gone to Parc Natural de Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac and hiked for five or six hours. The views are absolutely amazing, but you’re bound to get lost as the routes aren’t very well marked.

This Sunday we’re planning to go to Parc Natural del Montseny, but it has been fairly cloudy lately, and the weather forecast predicts rain so we might just drive to Vic instead and go for lunch in the old town.

Back in Barcelona

My life has been a bit mad lately, but I'm now back in Barcelona, and I'm also back on blogger.

Boomerang

Some artists last for a fortnight, others for a life time. When I was fifteen I really liked Rebecka Törnqvist, and to my surprise I still do. Two weeks ago, I went to her concert at Babel, old Jeriko, in Malmö, and there I found out that her sound has developed in the same direction as my taste.

Boomerang is the name of the club that hosted the concert. The organisers say that it isn’t a night about nostalgia, but that it’s an evening celebrating artists who were good ten years ago and still are today – good things come back. However, for me it was all about nostalgia, and I got the impression that the majority of the audience were old fans as the atmosphere reached its peak when she played one of her old hits.

Then: Rebecka Törnqvist - "Good Thing"

Today: Rebecka Törnqvist - "While You Hesitate"

On the 6th of November, Boomerang will present Eric Gadd, and I would have loved to go and listen to his old soul tunes, but it looks like I won’t be in Sweden by then.
