Mini Biography
If you had told 14 year old Franciscan seminary student Thomas Cruise Mapother IV that one day in the not too distant future he would be considered one of the top 100 movie stars of all time, he would have probably grinned and told you that his ambition was to become a priest. Nonetheless, this sensitive, deeply religious youngster who was born in July 1962 in Syracuse, New York, was destined to become Tom Cruise, one of the highest paid and most sought-after actors in screen history. The only son (among four children) of nomadic parents, young Tom spent his boyhood eternally on the move, and by the time he was 14, had attended 15 different schools in the US and Canada. He finally settled in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, with his mother and her new husband. While in high school, he developed an interest in acting and abandoned his plans of becoming a priest, and at age 18 headed for New York and a possible acting career. The next 15 years of his life are the stuff of legends. He made his film debut with a small part in Endless Love (1981) and from the outset exhibited an undeniable box office appeal to both male and female audiences. Within 5 years Tom Cruise was starring in some of the top grossing films of the decade including Top Gun (1986); The Color of Money (1986), Rain Man (1988) and Born on the Fourth of July (1989). By the 1990s and 2000s he was one of the highest paid actors in the world earning an average 15 million dollars a picture in such blockbuster hits as Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994), Mission: Impossible (1996), Mission: Impossible II (2000), Mission: Impossible III (2006), Vanilla Sky (2001), Minority Report (2002), The Last Samurai (2003), Collateral (2004), War of the Worlds (2005), and Jerry Maguire (1996) - for which he received an Academy Award Nomination for best actor. In 1990 he renounced his devout Catholic beliefs and embraced The Church Of Scientology claiming that Scientology teachings had cured him of the dyslexia that had plagued him all of his life. A kind and thoughtful man well known for his compassion and generosity, Tom Cruise is one of the best liked members of the movie community. He was married to actress Nicole Kidman until 2001. Thomas Cruise Mapother IV has indeed come a long way from the lonely wanderings of his youth.

Paris Hilton Scandlas

Cy Waits and Paris Hilton before her appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman

Remember Paris Hilton? She starred in a sex tape, then a reality show, then fell off the face of the earth.

Rick Salomon and Paris Hilton back when they used to date. Dude boned her on tape and marketed it for a fortune. That's their relationship in a nutshell.

Paris Hilton and Cy Waits in a picture from one of their recent outings. This one didn't end with them in jail either, surprisingly.
Paris Hilton is a free woman ... for now. Don't expect that to last too long. Just saying, it's not likely.
Paris Hilton jetted off to Hawaii following her August 2010 bust for cocaine possession. She dragged boyfriend Cy Waits around with her.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie Stunning, smart and slightly insane, this Hollywood icon is known for romancing her costars, kissing her brother at the Oscars, exotic tattoos and commendable humanitarian efforts. The daughter of Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight, she first garnered attention as a high-school computer wiz in the film Hackers after which she married costar Jonny Lee Miller. Their marriage died in 1999 just when Jolie's career was heating up. She appeared in three films that year including the seriocomic Pushing Tin which introduced her to hubby No. 2, Billy Bob Thornton, and the mental-institution drama Girl, Interrupted, which earned her an Oscar. Subsequently, Jolie made a series of blockbusters (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) and bombs (Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow), none of which made use of her considerable acting talents. After divorcing Thornton in 2003, Jolie devoted much of her time to working with refugees in impoverished countries and raising her adopted children. In 2005, around the time her action film Mr. & Mrs. Smith was released, rumors circulated that she and recently separated costar Brad Pitt were having an affair. Although they refused to confirm the relationship, they remained tabloid cover stars for months until Jolie finally admitted in early 2006 that she was pregnant with his child.

Colin Firth

He began his career working in a London theatre ticket booth after arriving in the capital disillusioned with the treadmill of school and academics. Age 23, Firth got his acting break taking over the role played by Daniel Day-Lewis in the West End production of Another Country; a year later he was starring in a film version of the show alongside Rupert Everett. In the years between his debut and the 1995 ‘drenched shirt moment’ that was to catapult him to heartthrob status and superstardom, Firth featured in a string of lower-profile successes, including an on-stage production of Pinter’s The Caretaker and as the libertine protagonist in the 1989 film Valmont, an adaptation of Les Liaisons Dangereuses. The BBC’s famous Pride and Prejudice came along in 1995, leading to his subsequent Mark Darcy roles in the Bridget Jones films. The charming-mannered Englishman became something of a trademark character for Firth, who went on to star in such films as Fever Pitch, The Importance of Being Ernest and the British classic Love Actually. However, despite Darcy’s ghost lingering in the shadows, Firth has always sought diversity in his roles, moving away from the romantic comedies that made his name. He received widespread acclaim in projects such as And When Did You Last See Your Father, about the life of poet Blake Morrison, and was nominated for an Emmy after playing lawyer Wilhelm Stuckart in the TV drama Conspiracy. His 2009 role in Tom Ford’s poignant work A Single Man, as a professor mourning the death of his lifelong partner, earned Firth a Bafta and the Venice Volpi cup, as well as an Oscar nomination and numerous other awards. In January he was chosen for the honour of a Hollywood Walk of Fame star, which he dedicated to his wife, the Italian-born film producer Livia Giuggioli.
